Starting times are posted for player courtesy. There is a slight chance that a match may be adjusted, but no one will be forfeited in the first round as long as they show up for their time listed here. There are a couple of TBA's on each chart for the slight chance someone's entry didn't get processed. These TBA's opponents are asked to be present for the first start time. This affects only a couple of players. If the TBA is not used it turns into a bye. Players can help the tournament stay on time by being on time. It is recommended that you show up about 15 minutes early for your matches. Tables are re-used each round so it is necessary to play at a reasonable pace. Here are a few points to help you out.

  1. Be 10 -15 minutes early for your matches.
  2. Find your table number (on colored post its to the side of your match).
  3. Know when you play next. Look in the column directly above your name. The times are posted. Sometimes there may be multiple times for one column and the time may be written in your individual match box. Match times will be in colored marker.
  4. If you are late for your match, report directly to your assigned table. You will forfeit your match if you are more then 15 minutes late.
  5. If your opponent is late, notify the referee in your section.
  6. If you are in the Westlake, Crown, Broodmoor, or Bonaventure rooms and there is no referee available, please call the control desk and a referee will be sent.
  7. You may start your matches early if you are both ready, but time doesn't start until the scheduled time on the chart.
  8. There are phones in all remote areas with the extension of the control desk to call for a referee.
  9. Slow play. If you are playing someone that is continuing to play slow, we need to be notified to keep your match on time and for you to play at a comfortable pace. Don't tell us after the match that someone was playing slow, because it is too late to help.
